Jammin’ on the Porch – Psycherelic
August 9 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Psycherelic is a band with a playful stage energy and tremendous intensity, performing everything from classic rock favorites to cool blues and smooth soul. Formed in the winter of 2016, the group is comprised of talented, seasoned musicians with very diverse musical backgrounds. Using those individual experiences, they have melded their early influences to create a unique style, sound, and stage presentation.
Psycherelic has developed a following based in part on their excellent musicianship and vocal blending. From a ballsy rendition of Joe Cocker’s, “Feelin’ Alright,” to a delicate treatment of C.S.N.’s “Just A Song Before I Go,” or a playful romp with the Rolling Stone’s, “Dead Flowers,” the band paints wide strokes all over its musical canvass.
Psycherelic has also earned a reputation as a top notch “Jam Band,” giving way to sections of spontaneous improvisation. In the words of band member, Vicki Terpstra, “Our intense love of music keeps everyone on their feet! And no matter how often you come and party with us, you’ll never hear anything played the same way twice.”
One reason Pyscherelic is beloved is its connection with the people. The band takes pride in reading the crowd’s desires and plays accordingly. That may mean dumping a planned set of reflective psychedelic songs for an hour’s worth of high energy dance tunes. If that’s where the people want to go, the band is only too happy to lead. But no matter which genre of music is most appropriate for the setting, one thing is certain: If Psycherelic’s on stage, the party is on!
